Hi Nichols Families,
We hope that you enjoyed the solar eclipse on Monday! What a wonderful experience for all of us.
We wanted to make you aware that CVU is currently doing standardized testing of all our 9th graders. Students began with math testing on Thursday, and that will continue into early next week. Students will begin ELA testing on Monday. It is important that every student comes to school on Monday and Tuesday with a charged Chromebook and a pair of headphones. Please give your student a gentle reminder of this expectation before coming to school next week.
Thank you and enjoy the weekend!

Wellness: Personal Health
This week in health students identified pressure tactics used in relationships. They practiced refusal skills of delay tactics, suggesting alternative options and saying no to get out of unwanted situations. Students researched consent laws and created a list of non-negotibales around what they value in a relationship.

Humanities
In Humanities this week, we combined English and Social Studies classes in order to prepare students for the wrap up of our Just Mercy unit. Student spent a lot of time working on their final essays and also watching the documentary 13th. Next week, we will engage in state testing for the VTCAPs and we'll wrap up our unit with our final scored discussion!
Today also marks O'Brien's last day as she prepares to welcome her second daughter into the world. On Monday, Sarah Laide will take over as her long-term sub, and her and Garett will co-teach Humanities for the rest of the school year.
