Apprentice: someone who has agreed to work for a skilled person for a particular period of time in order to learn that person's skills.

It is different than an internship as it lasts for a longer period of time, includes a structured training plan, focuses on mastering specific skills an employer needs to fill an occupation, receives individualized training with an experienced mentor, and receives pay that often leads to full-time employment.
