Exploring Careers and Keybaording
Students will learn the proper techniques of successful keyboarding and practice for 20 minutes daily. Students also explore the 16 career clusters that can be found in the NC Career Clusters Guide. During this exploration students will have an opportunity to participate in Hands on Activities, Virtual job shadowing, self-evaluation, and they will learn how to identify skills required to be successful in each profession.
Exploring Business and Entrepreneurship
Offered to 7th grade students. This class helps students understand the inner workings of business by educating them on the principles of business, functions, main types, and classification. Students will also explore the concept of entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurship process, and procedures and requirements for starting a business.
Introduction to Office Productivity
Our 8th Grade students will be ready for High School with our introduction to Office Productivity. In this class Students have an opportunity to learn Advanced word processing, basic spreadsheet functions, presentation procedures, and presentation techniques.
Exploring Business Procedures and Leadership
Students are introduced to a variety of business procedures and the basics of leadership. Students learn life-long career success building skills like business etiquette, ethics, and how to seek, gain, and maintain employment. Students also learn leadership skills including communication, team building, collaboration, and other desirable traits.
Future Business Leaders of America
NC FBLA helps prepare students pursuing job opportunities in business technologies career pathways including: accounting and finance, information systems, business management and applications, small business entrepreneurship, business administration, and office systems technology. It provides students with leadership opportunities as well as a means to compete with other students in regional, state, and national conferences.
