Phishing - How to...
Mark a phishing email as Spam in Gmail
Opened email message (2 options in the image)
Click the exclamation point (Spam) button to report spam, found at the top of the message.
Click the 3 vertical dots and select Report phishing
Bonus tip: You can look at email headers by clicking Show original to see if the sender name matches information imbedded in the email code.
Unopened email
Select the message in the mailbox message list by clicking the small checkbox on the left end of it.
That action opens the "Action menu" at the top of the mailbox.
Now click the exclamation point (Spam) button in the menu to report spam.
Forward a phishing email for investigation and viewing email headers
Open the phishing email message, being careful not to click any links it may contain.
Click the three vertical dot menu to the right of the Reply arrow at the top right of the message.
Click on “Show Original” to open a detailed view of the message.
Copy the output and paste it in the message you want to forward to techsupport@cua.edu.
To save the output of the email code
Click on the “Download Original” link in the Show Original view.
The downloaded file will have the name of the email subject line (and file type .eml), and is normally located in your device's Downloads folder.
