Our Mentors
The following people contributed to our learning in a wide variety of ways. De-Scent It wouldn't have been possible without all of their contributions! Thank you!
A BIG SHOUT OUT goes to Southbury Printing Center! They came to our rescue at the last minute to create our Team T-Shirts. Thank you to Earl, Fred, and Amanda.
Mr. Kornblut
Mr.K has been a mentor throughout our science experiments for Expo Fest. He gave us access to equipment needed to test for bacteria and taught us how to use it to get accurate results. He spent time talking to our science team and checking in on our experiments to ensure we were learning and understanding what we had done with bacteria.
Mrs. Waldron
Mrs. Waldron was a big help in working with us on our physical prototype. She worked especially with Sophia Dmitriyeva, to learn about how to use and properly navigate the sewing machine in order to sew the liner together. She also fixed the sewing machines needles when they broke. She took time in her day to take a whole class period to teach Sophia how to sew. Thank you for your time!
Mrs. Elaine Peck
Mrs. Elaine Peck has helped us in one specific way which happened to be a big impact. Along with Mr. Wolff, Mrs. Peck gave us most of the support with the AutoCad work. Mrs. Peck showed us the AutoCad works and everything that had to be done. Mrs. Peck was overall a huge help whenever we needed it.
Denise Schutte
Denise Schutte is Rachael Hungerford's aunt. She works for the watch company TIMEX. She runs the TIMEX website, and designs banners, coupons, photos, watches, and more. She reviewed our website and gave us really great back feedback.
Levi and Mason Fitzpatrick
Levi and Mason Fitzpatrick visited the Capstone class early in Trimester 2. Mason and Levi shared their own experiences with Capstone at Pomperaug High School, showed us examples of high-quality work, and gave us tips for success.
