Output Type Studies / analysis – Questionnaire development and survey implementation

Start Date (yyyy-mm-dd) 2021-09-01

End Date (yyyy-mm-dd) 2021-12-31

Output Description (including: needs analysis, target groups, elements of innovation, expected impact and transferability potential)

The aim of this output is to reveal which factors cause dropout or truancy among the students and the factors prevent considering higher education. If the factors of the risks that cause students drop out in partner schools are identified clearly, the results of the further steps will be more trustworthy. This will enable the stakeholders to reduce the factors that the students face and some prevention studies can be carried out easily. This analysis will be applied to teachers and students. The factors may not be same for all four partner schools however the results will give us to compare the situation that the partners are.

The content of the questions that will be prepared to determine the factors causing early school leaving will consist of the following three titles:

School-Related Factors:

 • Lack of continuing and effective school attendance policies

• Difficulty in keeping the school attendance records and not keeping the records seriously.

 • Determination of preliminary symptoms of absenteeism or dropout and early recognition methods.

 • Determination of methods to interfere with absenteeism or abandonment.

 • Identifying factors that prevent the students from proceeding to the upper education.

TARGET GROUPS: It will be applied to the students (aged between 14-19) and the teachers of the partner schools.

ELEMENTS OF INNOVATION: With this analysis study, schools will be able to determinate the factors which cause absenteeism.

EXPECTED IMPACT: Factor analysis will reveal the factors causing dropout and absenteeism, and guide other schools with the same problem. In this analysis applied to teachers and students, it can be compared which factors cause absenteeism and dropout according to teachers and students.

TRANSFERABILITY POTENTIAL: This analysis will play an important role in identifying the next intellectual output-needs analysis questions. In addition, an action plan for preventing factors that are effective in creating a school risk plan will be developed.
