Grade 7 students will read two books this summer and complete the Hand-Drawn Timeline Project (see instructions below). Students will also take a test over King Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table on the 1st Friday of school.
Whether you choose to listen to an audio of the book or read it for yourself, make sure that you secure a physical copy (not digital) of the first book listed. You are expected to bring your copy (only the first book listed) to class on the first day of school. Your copy can be new or used. Please check the ISBN to make sure you secure the correct edition.
2. Students may select any book of their choice and complete the Hand-Drawn Timeline Project. The project is due the first day of school and to be turned in to their English teacher.
Hand-Drawn Timeline Project: Complete for the Student-Selected Book
Create a hand-drawn timeline that shows important events from the book. Choose between 10-15 important events from the story from beginning to end. Write a description of each event, and draw & color an illustration for each event. The events must be in the order in which they occurred. Also, include in your drawings surrounding your timeline important characters, objects, places, and the title and author of the book. Below is an example of a hand-drawn timeline from a historical period that can be adapted to a novel setting.
