English 10 (PreAP)

Students registered for the PreAP English 10 course will read two books this summer.

Students should read Parts 1-4* of Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes by Edith Hamilton and complete the Mythology Guide (9-10). The guide is due on the 1st day of school and students will take a test covering the book on the 1st Friday during class.

*Please omit Parts 5-7 of the reading.

2. Students may select any nonfiction book of their choice and complete the Non-Fiction Infographic (see instructions below). The infographic is due on the first day of school and will be turned in to their English teacher.

Summer Reading Guide: Grades 9-10

Students should complete the Mythology: Summer Reading Guide packet and turn it in to their English teacher the first day of school.

CTCS Summer Reading 2025: Non-Fiction Speed Dating Project

Students should complete the Non-Fiction Infographic and turn it in to their English teacher the first day of school. During the first two weeks of school, students will participate in a non-fiction speed dating activity using their infographics.
