Aprentech is a mobile application and website designed to preserve access to Triqui Bajo, an endangered Indigenous language spoken in Oaxaca, Mexico. Its core feature, Native Bot, allows users to speak a word or phrase in English or Spanish and receive the corresponding Triqui Bajo translation accompanied by authentic, native-speaker audio recordings. The system was built using Flutter, Flask, MongoDB, and AWS S3, with voice input processed through Google Cloud Speech-to-Text. The project also includes a custom fine-tuned Whisper model trained on Triqui Bajo recordings, developed as a foundation for future native language recognition. The platform is designed to be extensible to additional Indigenous languages, serving as an accessible tool for learners, heritage speakers, and educators.
