Chrome: Why?

  • It works best with Gmail, Calendar, and Drive

  • It's secure

  • You can customize the browser with extensions

  • You can sync across other devices (laptops, mobile app, tablets, etc)

Chrome: How-to

    • Clear Browser Cache (shortcut = ctrl+shift+delete on a PC)

    • Continue Where You Left Off

    • Reopen Recently Closed Tabs

    • Sign-in to Chrome to Sync

Gmail

Google Drive

Google Drive is a cloud storage service-a virtual file cabinet. It can store nearly any type of file. We recommend using it to store your files because it makes sharing them with students and peers easy.

Google Apps

Google Apps are tools available for Google Drive users. They are great for collaboration because you can work on them simultaneously with others or share for comment, if you wish.

  • Google Docs - Replaces MS Word

  • Google Sheets - Replaces MS Excel

  • Google Slides - Replaces MS Powerpoint. It allows live closed captioning -shows your words as you speak (Presenter Mode while in Zoom)

  • Google Forms - Forms provides quick student responses and a quizzing option; results display as a PDF or in a Sheets file
