At Columbia High School, Graduation Pathways and the High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) are more than graduation requirements — they are the foundation of our academic planning and career exploration process. Together, they guide the meaningful conversations students have each year about their goals, interests, and future plans.
Through the High School and Beyond Plan, students explore career and college options, reflect on their strengths, and build a personalized course plan that prepares them for life after graduation. This ongoing planning process, combined with strong classroom instruction and intentional course selection, ensures that students are prepared for their next meaningful step.
Students will complete one or more Graduation Pathways to demonstrate readiness for postsecondary opportunities, which may include entering the workforce, beginning an apprenticeship, attending college, or serving in the military. The Graduation Pathway(s) selected by each student will align with their individual High School and Beyond Plan, ensuring their academic experience at Columbia High School supports their long-term goals.
