Background—Leviticus records the sacrificial system for the people of Israel. The sacrifices are performed to cover sins committed by the people. This Scripture describes how the Jewish priests were chosen and dedicated for offering these sacrifices on behalf of the people.
Background—The book of Hebrews was written to Jewish followers of Jesus to help them understand how to live out their new faith in Jesus as the Messiah. This includes a shift in their understanding of the sacrificial system.
