Developing Commercial First Aid in West Africa
The Commercial First Aid development project is a regional project ranging across Mauritania, Senegal, Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali. Its aim is to contribute to the strengthening of action capabilities of national societies to ensure First Aid practice. In a second phase, a focus will be placed on developing commercial First Aid through marketing strategy support and technical and logistical methodological support for the rollout of Commercial First Aid training.

COMPLETED INITIATIVE
Engaging employees in developing income-generating activities and supporting the running of a kindergarten
A nursery manager from the French Red Cross was called in to boost capacity and optimise the running of the Mauritania Red Crescent committee's pre-school.
In a second phase, an employee from the Innovation department conducted a needs assessment to identify sustainable sources of income for the local committee, with the aim of eventually covering the preschool's operating costs. Recommendations included creating meeting rooms and guest rooms for rent, as well as setting up a motorcycle-taxi service to generate additional income.
