How to add effects to a clip
Add transitions to your video
Add photos to a sequence just as you would add video clips.
You can change the still image playback duration from its 5-second default length by choosing Edit > Preferences > Timeline > Still Image Default Duration (Windows) or Premiere Pro Application Menu > Preferences > Timeline > Still Image Default Duration (macOS).
Adjust oversized video clips and photos to the frame size of your sequence in the Effect Controls panel.
If the clip aspect ratio doesn’t match your sequence, you can use the Scale and Position controls in the Effect Controls panel to make adjustments. Use the Rotation controls to fix things like a horizon line that isn’t level.
Select a clip in the Timeline panel to see controls for it in the Effect Controls panel.
To resize a clip so that it fits inside your sequence frame, right-click the clip in the sequence and choose Set To Frame Size.
Browse the Video Transitions category in the Effects panel.
Apply a video transition effect by dragging it from the Effects panel onto the edit point between two clips in a sequence.
Adjust the timing or duration of a transition effect in the Timeline panel by dragging it to a new position relative to the edit point between the two clips, or by dragging the ends of the effect, in the same way that you might trim a clip.
Access settings for a transition effect in the Effect Controls panel by first selecting the effect in the Timeline panel.
You can remove a transition effect by selecting it and pressing Delete.
You can replace an existing transition effect by dragging a different transition effect onto it. The replacement transition effect will have the duration and timing of the effect it replaces.
