Prudential Spirit Of Community Award
If your child happens to be one who is making a difference through volunteering, we are excited to recognize and celebrate them by bringing the opportunity to apply for a 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Award! In each state, the top middle level youth volunteer will be named as State Honorees and will receive an award of $1000, an engraved silver medallion, and an all-expense paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington D.C.. Please see the attachment for additional information and how to apply. Prudential Spirit Award.pdf
Progress Reports are sent home each Friday
Students with any grade below a C must return their signed report to their homeroom teacher on Monday.
Questions about a grade or assignment? Please empower your child to talk to his or her teacher before following up. We are working to build our students' capacity to advocate for themselves-- a skill that is essential to high school success.
We are still looking for parent volunteers
Just because your middle schooler doesn't want you to come read to her class or bring cupcakes at lunch, doesn't mean there's no room for your support! Your middle school team would love your help on Fridays helping them to prepare for the busy week ahead.
Copying, laminating, and prepping materials are necessary for our oldest students as well. Please email Ms. Perrone if you are able to help on Fridays.
Meet the Middle School Team
Welcome to Middle School at Biltmore Prep! I am Ms. Nolan and I am excited to start my 5th year here at BPA! This year I will be teaching Social
Studies and Math to 6th graders, as well as Math to 7th grade. I am
excited to get to know a new group of students and see where this year
takes us all! I would like to be your teammate as you navigate through the
world of Middle School with your child, so please reach out with any
questions or concerns!
Greetings BPA Families! I am Jess Vasta and I have the pleasure of teaching your middle school student English Language Arts and Social Studies! I am originally from Upstate New York where I attended Keuka College and obtained my degree in general education and special education. I am currently finishing up my Masters degree in Educational Leadership. I moved to Arizona 5 years ago with my husband to begin my teaching career! I have taught in both general and special education classroom settings.
However, I have found a real passion for teaching ELA. I am an avid reader and I love being able to share my love of reading with my students. I also believe that all students learn and process information differently, so I offer flexible seating options and multi-modality assignments/projects in my classroom in order to ensure that everyone learns the way that best suits them! I look forward to getting to know your child and working closely with you.
Hi BPA Families! I have been a teacher for 29 years, 10 of them in Mexico and 19 in the United States. Prior to teaching, I was a water distribution and irrigation engineer in Mexico. This career provided me the appropriate tools and opportunities to use my own real-life experiences when teaching Science to my students
Regarding my teaching style, I love building relationships with my students and parents, as well as having fun while teaching, especially when my students complete hands-on projects.
I have a vast knowledge of the middle school science curriculum and great experience leading the school's science fair. I am looking forward to working at BPA this school year.
Greetings everyone! Born and raised in Phoenix, I am a graduate of Bourgade Catholic High School and NAU. I spent the first ten years of my career in the Cartwright District as a fourth grade teacher and a reading interventionist. Although I am bilingual now, I wasn't raised that way; a school trip to Spain hooked me and I haven't stopped learning since! I am constantly seeking opportunities to stretch my linguistic growth by talking in Spanish with native speakers, reading in Spanish, listening to Spanish, etc. Also, if anyone has any recommendations for telenovelas, please let me know! I'm excited to be a part of the Spanish Immersion program at Biltmore Prep.
With two young children (ages 3.5 and 1.5), I am passionate about making fun family memories. (And yes, the goal is to raise them bilingual as well!) I am also a big fan of yoga, dark chocolate, being outside, tea, reading cookbooks, listening to podcasts and NPR, and oral storytelling. My most recent accomplishment was participating in The Moth's Phoenix Storyslam this past June.
