Bring Your Legislator to Work Day

Biltmore middle schoolers had the opportunity to talk with LD 28 Representative Kelli Butler! Representative Butler was very impressed with BPA's program and students' excellent questions about the legislative process. Kudos to Maestra Perrone and Ms. Bradbury for arranging the visit!

Meet the Middle School Team

Ms. Nolan: Math, English Language Arts, & Social Studies

Welcome to Middle School at Biltmore Prep! I am Ms. Nolan and I am excited to start my 6th year here at BPA! This year I’ll be teaching Math, Social Studies and English Language Arts to 6th grade students, as well as Math to 7th grade students.

I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. I love being around kids and have known from a young age that I wanted to become a teacher. In my spare time I like to read, watch movies, and spend time with my friends, family, and dog, Sadie.

Ms. Vasta: English language Arts

Hello! My name is Jess Vasta and I currently teach Reading and Writing to all 7th and 8th grade students. This is my sixth year teaching and my fourth year teaching in the Creighton School District. I have a background in teaching 1st-8th grade in both special education (2nd, 3rd, and 5th) and general education (1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th). I have also just finished my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and enjoy supporting Biltmore Prep any way I can.

I love my job and enjoy going to conferences and trainings outside of the district to further develop my craft. I also enjoy reading both for pleasure and for work. My husband and I moved to Arizona from upstate NY 6 years ago. We are new parents to our 8 month old son August Alexander Vasta. He absolutely adores our Australian shepherd Luke Skywalker Vasta.

If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at jvasta@creightonschools.org and I will try my best to email you back promptly.

MR Ramos: Science

Hi BPA Families! I have been a teacher for 30 years, 10 of them in Mexico and 20 in the United States. Prior to teaching, I was a water distribution and irrigation engineer in Mexico. This career provided me the appropriate tools and opportunities to use my own real-life experiences when teaching Science to my students

Regarding my teaching style, I love building relationships with my students and parents, as well as having fun while teaching, especially when my students complete hands-on projects.

I have a vast knowledge of the middle school science curriculum and great experience leading the school's science fair. I am looking forward to working at BPA this school year.

Maestra Perrone: Spanish Language Arts

Hola! I am Maestra Perrone. I have been teaching Spanish immersion for years. I am originally from Milwaukee, WI. I earned my undergraduate degrees from Marquette University and my Masters degree from Thunderbird. I have lived and worked in over 20 countries, spending the most time in Spain.

I am passionate about helping to create bilingual, global citizens. My daughter is in 4th grade.

Ms. Quintanilla: English Language Arts & Social Studies

Hi, my name is Maria Quintanilla and I’m so excited to be part of Biltmore Prep Academy. I’m thrilled to say that I’ve been teaching for 20 years in the Creighton School District but I have 23 years of teaching experience overall! I love working with kids and this year I am a middle school Social Studies Dual Language teacher. Machan was my school for the last ten years before coming to Biltmore.

I have 3 daughters and a Chihuahua named Dory. I love the beach and traveling. I currently have two masters degrees: one in Bilingual Education and the other in Elementary Education with a Reading Endorsement. I am excited about starting the school year and getting to know the teachers and students.

Ms. Turner: Math

Hello, I am Ms. Turner and I am excited to begin another school year here at BPA. This is my 14th year teaching middle school math, and this will be my 4th year at Biltmore Prep. I teach the 6th grade accelerated, 7th grade accelerated and 8th grade general math classes.

I am originally from Chicago, IL. I graduated from Aurora University with a bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration and then to National-Louis University with a masters in education, with a focus on middle school mathematics. I love to get back to Chicago when I can, to spend time sailing with my dad, playing with my three adorable nephews and soaking in the energy of the city. I love Da Bears and the Cubs and try to catch the games as much as I can. I love seeing the middle schoolers each day, but when I am not at BPA, my happy place is somewhere soaking in live music, skiing down a freshly covered mountain or sitting around a kitchen table laughing with friends!

Dr. Teyechea McNeil: Algebra & CGAT

I am excited to serve Biltmore Prep as the 8th grade Algebra teacher and Creighton Gifted and Talented (CGAT) teacher. I am an ASU alumni with a master’s in Bilingual Education and PhD in Curriculum Studies. Over the past 23 years, I have had the privilege of being a teacher, administrator, educational consultant, and a university professor. I am back in the classroom because teaching is my passion and my goal this year is to integrate teaching and technology.

Middle School is always looking for volunteers to help with copies. Please contact Ms. Perrone if you are available: gperrone@creightonschools.org
