Sociology Research Paper/Presentation

Goal of the Assignment: To conduct a research study about a current sociological issue and then be able to record findings both research paper format and then through an oral presentation to the class.

• I chose to focus my research on whether the increased levels of stress in teens today a result of a lower stress tolerance was or greater societal pressure

How it Fits the Learning Target: 

• Required us to study our topic in a variety of ways

  • Researching former studies

  • Designing our own process for evaluating the topic

• We were then required to communicate our findings in a variety of ways

  • Research paper format 

  • Oral presentation with a slideshow

• This assignment included both a professional paper where we assumed we were reporting to a well-educated audience and then an oral presentation where we had to assume the audience was uneducated on our topic.
