Destination

On a windy but warm morning, the students of Carle Place gathered at Jones Beach at 8:00 AM for the annual Breast Cancer Walk. The crowd was a sea of pink shirts, ribbons, and signs—all representing a shared purpose of raising awareness and hope. During the walk, Carle Place students stood proudly among the participants, dressed in pink and carrying the Key Club poster. The banner waved against the ocean breeze, representing not only our school spirit but also our shared belief in community and compassion.
This year’s walk held special meaning for the Carle Place Key Club. Last year, Key Clubbers fundraised in honor of those affected by triple-negative breast cancer and had the privilege of meeting the Breslin family, who tragically lost Jillian Breslin to the disease. Walking this year was a way to honor her memory and continue spreading awareness for those still fighting.
The word “Destination” carries a deeper meaning for this event. It isn’t just about reaching the end of the walk—it’s about what that destination stands for: raising awareness, coming together as a community, and walking with purpose. Like an ant, one alone might go unnoticed, but when many come together, their impact becomes impossible to ignore. The students of Carle Place walked not as individuals, but as a united force, proving that small steps, when taken together, can lead to something truly powerful.
