Pennsylvania has a very diverse population, and the colony attracted people from all over European countries. Since William Penn was the governor of Pennsylvania, he enforced Quaker culture onto the settlers, where they had to respect the principles of religious tolerance and pacifism associated with Quakerism. Farming was a crucial part of the colonies in the middle colonies. People from all over Europe came to the middle colonies to farm. Pennsylvania had many interactions with Native Americans, but due to William Penn's efforts, we had a friendly relationship since Penn didn’t let colonists settle on their land until they sold it to the colonists. The University of Pennsylvania was built in 1740 by Benjamin Franklin, which helped people get education.
Anthony Benezet wanted to provide education for everyone regardless of gender. He created the first public girls' school in Philadelphia in 1750, which provided education for girls since education for girls was very limited. He also advocated for the education of African Americans and Native Americans. He opposed slavery and worked hard to inform the public of how terrible the slave trade is. Anthony's efforts to advance education in Pennsylvania worked, since he had an impact on the colony's social.
