New Jersey has three main classes. The gentry have the most power in the colony. They are rich, powerful and can govern.  This is beautiful for you and your family.  Don't you want your family to get the life they deserve? The middle class is comprised of most of the population and is made of farmers and carpenters. The middle class can still give a great life because we know how much that means to you. The poor work as apprentices and sailors.  In the poor class, you can always rise up and get to a better class. Women work as domestics and help with family and the house. Even in your circumstances, the American dream applies to the poor. Many people have the opportunity to move up in life by being farmers and carpenters.  Most of the governing power is given to the British, which gives colonists that are originally from many more rights and opportunities. There are also some laws. One law is that slaves can't leave the house after 10:00.pm, which is much more lenient than other colonies. There is a small percent of people that are freed African-Americans who can then use that power to free their family. Opportunities for all, come for a new life.
