The economy in New York is solid as a rock, so why stay somewhere else? Don't believe this? New York is nicknamed the "port city of the world". What makes New York's economy so good? New York is a gold mine for natural resources.
With that said, let's talk about the first major resource, the forests. Love spending time out in nature? Then, cutting down trees is your job. If nature is not your thing, spend your days building ships. It's a very important job because without it, how would you ever have come to this wonderful place called New York?
If you are a farmer and want to continue, New York is a great place for you! There are many benefits of coming to New York to farm, one is that the soil is rich and fertile. Second, watering your crops would be a no-sweater...literally because of the waterways. Three, there is a large amount of iron ore so tools like plows are easily made. This made farming so much easier because your horses could do most of the work for you by simply pulling the plow. The major crop in New York is wheat, in which flour is made. Ships then export the flour to England.
The abundance of iron ore formed a whole new job...the blacksmith. Without them, there would be no plows or other tools that would make everyday life easier.
New York has a peaceful relationship with its Native American neighbors. You and your family won't have to worry about war or conflicts. Don't you want that for your family? Due to the peaceful relationship with the Native Americans, the fur trade is also a big profit maker for New York's economy!
