Band Camps 2024

Brass Camp: June 17-20, 10am-12pm (all brass musicians welcome!)

Champerette Practice: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8 am - 10 am

Flag Practice: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 5 pm - 7:30 pm 

*practices begin June 17th.  contact captains for location

Drumline Camp 1.0: July 8th-12th, 9am - 2pm (all percussionists welcome! CB1, VB and SB must attend)

Drumline Camp 2.0: TBA 

Band Camp: August 19th-23rd 4pm - 8pm.  

Homecoming: October 18th

*All band camps will take place in the band room and are mandatory! Please reach out to Mr. Flygt and Mr. Veren if you are unable to attend for any reason.  Home Football Games: September 20th, 27th.  MAYBE away game August 24th

NO EXPERIENCE, NO PROBLEM

If you have no previous experience on an instrument, there is still a place for you in band! We offer a Beginning Band Honors course that will teach you how to play an instrument and read music. Visit the "Joining Band" tab to learn more.

WANT TO JOIN IN ON THE FUN?

Students with previous musical experience who wish to join band should click on the "Joining Band" link above and are encouraged to meet with the directors in person or contact them via email.   Students should also speak with their counselor to adjust their schedule and notify them of your intent to be in band for the upcoming school year. 

Our philosophy

At the heart of the Lane Tech Band Program is a focus on building core musicianship skills including improvisation, sight reading, performing, singing, drumming, dancing, and composing. We believe a great ensemble starts with a holistic approach toward each individual students' musical development. We work hard to foster a positive, warm, and familial atmosphere that welcomes all students and encourages them to care for one another's successes as well as their own. We seek to grow as musicians and individuals.
