Jones Drama - Course Offerings

Drama I

Students engage in an Intro to theatre course that covers the basics of theatre history, voice and speech, movement, and theatre fundamentals. Students work together to create original "performance essays," to engage with critical concepts from dramatic literature.

Drama II

Students build upon a basic working knowledge of the theatre through an introduction to  ensemble building, connecting exercises as a means of acting process, exploring what it is to audition and techniques for preparing one, as well as further exposure to dramatic literature.

Production I/II

Students explore dramatic work and develop techniques for bringing directing and design concepts from the page to the stage, playing a hands on role in the theatre production season. Students begin to shape their own style and voice while studying various dramatic forms from throughout history as well as global theatre traditions.
