In this section, we will investigate how to create custom pulleys with any tooth count. Note that this does not mean we can do any diameter pulley. We are always limited to the incriment of one tooth, but this does allow us to print or cut large pulleys for any size belt. This application is most commonly found in a turret design, similar to the one in the image.
The first step is to size the pulley needed. This will generally be determined by the size of the turntable bearing which is generally driven by the hole in the center through which the game piece will pass. We have created a lookup table to help define all of the parameters and dimensions of the custom pulley. It can be referenced below.
