I painted this piece because I wanted it to show that each day is the starting of the rest of your life, and I also wanted to depict a quote that I really understand, “It is said that the darkest hour of the night comes just before the dawn.” This is why I chose to create and showcase this piece of artwork.

7th Grade Writing Piece

idk, this is what i was thinking and i want to share

So while I was searching to find bikes to buy for me (a 14-year-old boy) I was obviously looking for the ones I thought looked good and I stumbled upon some bikes called ‘cruisers’; colorful, appealed to my tastes, and had an okay price. But when I pressed on it (which was immediate) I read that it was for ‘women’ and kinda died down on the inside. I looked for more like it, but they were all stated as ‘for women’. When I looked at the men’s counterparts, they were all dark in color and were way more expensive. I felt discouraged so I checked the comments, saw that there were both women and men who bought the ‘men’s’ one, I checked the one I liked but only saw women in the comments. Before I keep going I’d just like to say that I respect what women are doing for their rights and believe that they deserve so much more. Anyways, I knew my parents wouldn’t buy it for me with that kind of title but they had bought some things for my sister which were titled as ‘boy’s’ or ‘men’s’. I think it’s unfair, how girls are accepted and sometimes encouraged to do boyish things and wear boy-like clothes (basically tomboys or whatever they’re called), and are considered cute, but boys are ridiculed for doing girly things and wearing girly colors. I think something should be done about these gender stereotypes and ideas. Not just with the color thing but with so much more, for example, I heard some time ago that the boy scouts were accepting girls, but the girl scouts wouldn’t accept boys. Thanks for listening to my thoughts.

(p.s I just wrote everything in my head down, so excuse the grammar)
