NORTH-Grand COurse Catalog

SY 24-25

As an Early College STEAM high school, the mission of North-Grand is to engage our students in transformative learning experiences, rooted in the heritage and brilliance of our school community. We are committed to disrupting patterns of injustice and oppression through collective exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) as a lever for social change. We believe that all students deserve a rigorous education centered in shared inquiry, civic engagement, artistry, creativity, and joy.

The academic courses at North-Grand align with the CPS graduation requirements while providing students options to pursue their own academic and post-secondary interests. The “general” core classes offered are open to all students and provide access to a high quality college preparation curriculum with multiple supports to ensure all students are successful. “Honors” options for core classes are offered to students by a recommendation from a teacher. Honors coursework allows students to dive deeper into the same content topics taught in the “general” curriculum with similar support in place. Grades in honors courses are weighted heavier in a student’s GPA than regular classes. At North-Grand both classes provide students with skills and content knowledge needed to be successful beyond graduation.
