Exploring Computer Science covers a wide variety of topics that relate to the world of Computer Science. Topics include: Learning to Code Programs in Javascript, Discussing the Ethics and Implications of Computer and Technology in the Real World, Learning how to Create a Webpage, Binary Numbers, Learning how Computers and the Internet Operate, and Learning how to Program Robotic Devices to Perform Simple Tasks.
Estimated Homework Time: About 30-60 minutes a week

AP Computer Science Principles will introduce students to the Big Ideas of computer science, including programming, the Internet, algorithms, cybersecurity and data. Students will analyze how computer science drives our daily lives, in beneficial and harmful ways, and learn how to develop their own computer programs for a purpose. The course will involve several student-created projects, and is a good fit for any student who is highly motivated but does not necessarily have experience coding.

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of robotics, encompassing both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical skills. Instruction and learning opportunities to produce work products on programming languages commonly used in robotics, such as Python. Students will explore various sensors like ultrasonic sensors, and touch sensors, and learn how to integrate them into robotic systems for enhanced functionality. This course aims to not only impart technical skills but also instill problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork are crucial attributes for success in both college and future careers.
