Sophomore Info Night
An annual evening for sophomores is held, typically ahead of scheduling, to discuss options for college-preparatory coursework.
At CPPHS, we offer ACE, AP, IB, and SUPA coursework for students. The District has a non-compete policy for coursework; that means that you'll find one offering for English, or History, or Foreign language (unless concurrent enrollment exists).
ACE (Accelerated College Education) coursework is offered through Corning Community College. These courses are, in most cases, concurrently enrolled with IB courses. These courses yield free college credits for students who complete IB requirements and maintain a C average.
AP (Advanced Placement) coursework is College Board affiliated. AP exams are free to CPPHS students. College credit can be earned based on final AP scores. AP courses are concurrently enrolled with ACE.
Students choosing IB (International Baccalaureate) courses have the option to be course candidates or Diploma candidates. IB offers a rigorous course of study that often focuses on an interdisciplinary approach. IB exam registration and exam costs are free to CPPHS students. Many IB courses are concurrently enrolled with ACE.
SUPA (Syracuse University Project Advance) coursework is offered directly through Syracuse University. Students/families pay for these credits.
