Record of Work must reflect work done, or explanations for not doing planned work.
There must be a Record of Work for each grade (or class within a grade) at the Primary Level each year Group at the Nursery Level and for each subject at the Secondary Level
Entries must be precise, concise, in the past tense, and made at the end of each week, topics, subtopics and examples should be included as far as possible.
For Primary and Nursery Schools, Records of Work must be checked and signed weekly by the Divisional or year-group Heads and endorsed by the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher or someone designated to do so.
As far as possible, subject components must be pulled together on the content page.
Entries should be recorded in the specific slots provided therein.
Teachers attending the 'University of Guyana or the Cyril Potter College of Education must make entries on their last working clay of each week.
The Term and Week Ending must be indicated
For Secondary Schools:
Subject entries must be legibly initiated by the teacher concerned
In cases where an examination was administered or revision was done, the areas of focus must be precisely stated
Heads of Department and Deputy Headteachers should sign the Records of Work at the end of each week.
Headteachers must make periodic checks of Records of Work
Separate Records of Work are to be kept for the Upper School
General Scheme Of Work
A common format is to be used at the Nursery, Primary and Secondary Levels
The General Scheme-of-`Work is the base/source document which sets out the programme of work for each subject area done by the school.
For Nursery schools, this will be a two-year programme; primary schools will have a six-year programme; and secondary schools will have either a five-year or seven-year programme.
The school administration has the responsibility of ensuring that this record is prepared
All staff members (administrative and non-administrative) must be involved in the preparation of the General Scheme of Work.
The General Scheme of Work must reflect coverage of the three learning domains:- cognitive, psycho-motor anal affective.
Syllabuses, Scope and Sequence Charts, Curriculum Guides, State Payers on Education, and any other relevant/related documents should be used in the preparation of a general Scheme.
A School's General Scheme of Work ought to be approved by its Supervising Officer the Head of Department of Education or District Education Officer/Supervisor.
The prescribed format must be used in the preparation of a General Scheme.
General Schemes-of Work should be kept by the school administration, and made available to teachers for the preparation of their Annual Schemes of Work.
General Schemes of Work are subject to modifications from time to time.
Annual Scheme Of Work
The Annual Scheme of Work is a plan which details work that will be done in an academic year, by subject, and for a particular year croup or Grade.
The General Scheme of Work is the main source document for the preparation of Annual Schemes of Work.
The three terms of any Academic year must be catered for.
It is a plan that must be prepared by each year Group or Grade teacher and approved by the school administration.
Preparation and approval of Annual Schemes-of-Work must be done prior to the commencement of the school year in which they will be used
In the case of Secondary School, it is the responsibility of the Heads of Department to ensure that Annual Schemes of Work are prepared for their particular subject area(s).
Termly Scheme Of Work
This Scheme is prepared by each teacher from material contained in the Annual Scheme of Work and any other appropriate documents.
The Termly Scheme-of- Work details work to be done in each week of the term.
Every class teacher must prepare his/her Termly Schemes of Work before the beginning of the term in which it will be used possibly at the end of the preceding term,
Prior to its implementation, the school administration must sign and date the document thereby indicating approval of it for use.
