The purpose of class log book is a way to record and keep track of events in your classroom. Log books are important management tools that can be used in a variety of ways such as recording tardy pupils' entering the classroom, communication with pupils' parents and pupil-teacher conferences. The Class Log shall contain relevant bio and achievement data of every learner and also serve as a Class Inventory.
The purpose of the Pupils' Attendance register is to to record the regularity of each students. It enables the teachers to maintain the record of students present or absent in their class for a whole academic year, so they are accounted for. The Pupils' Attendance Register shows the names of the pupils on the roll of the class or section, during a month. The attendance is marked in the beginning of the school hour. Entries should be made in ink.
The purpose of class time table is to ensure that each subject is catered for, ensuring that all the subjects get equal amount of time so that students can learn effectively . Time table also reduces the confusion while learning. Pupils are very clear about the subject they have to study in a particular period.. There is also a lunchtime or break where students can interact with each other and refuel themselves.
The purpose of Record of work is to show what area of the syllabus/curriculum in a subject a teacher has covered. The record is kept by each teacher and must be produced on demand. A record of work ensures: accountability and transparency of work covered by the teacher, the continuity of teaching of a particular class. that a new teacher can trace where to start teaching a class, the evaluation of schemes of work after a period of time for example four years and uniformity in content coverage in case of several streams.
The Scheme of work is a detailed breakdown of the syllabus in terms of lessons, weeks, terms and year for the purpose of orderly and systematic teaching. The purpose of a scheme of work is to help teachers plan and sequence their lessons in advance. That way, they can make sure that all course content is taught before the school year ends, and that the National Curriculum aims are covered. The scheme of work is derived from the Life Skills Education Syllabus. The scheme of work details how the Life Skills Education content for each class is to be covered on a weekly, termly and yearly basis.
The purpose of a Lesson Plan is it serves as a guide that a teacher uses everyday to determine what the students will learn, how the lesson will be taught as well as how learning will be evaluated. Lesson Plans enable teachers to function more effectively in the classroom by giving detailed outline that they adhere to during each class. Having a Lesson Plan means teachers enter the classroom each day fully prepared to teach new concepts and lead meaningful discussions – instead of figuring things out as they go. Without a lesson plan, students can quickly lose focus and teachers may be left scrambling, thinking of what to do next.
The purpose of the Child Development Index Card is it reflects a student’s progress in relation to academic performance, conduct and behavior, among other things. This card forms part of the system of continuous assessment in each school. A card must be kept for each child. This gives a complete and growing picture of the individual student, which helps him during his long stay at the school and at the time of leaving it, in the solution of his manifold problems of educational, vocational; personal and social. It follows the pupil from class to class and from school. It provides an opportunity to have a comprehensive picture of the all-round development of the personality of the child. It is a very important record which should be maintain in every school.
The purpose of Entry Profiles is It help teachers and administrators understand what pupils know and are able to do at the start of School; (as well as throughout the entire School year) to support their success in School and beyond. It provide teachers with a menu of valid, reliable measurement tools that will assist them in observing, documenting and reflecting on the learning progress of their students. Entry Profiles is filled out by parents to register their child for school. This gives teachers information and serves as a first guide. For example Previous Educational Experience, important medical information, personality and likes etc.
