Fifth Grade Music Focus 2020-21: In Fifth Grade Music, my goal is to teach concepts through movement, listening, creating, and exploring. Our focus this year will be on social and emotional learning as well as to listen, identify and perform multiple meters, explore aspects of syncopation, develop an awareness of SATB choral music, music from other lands, singing descants, explore relationships of half and whole steps (sharps, flats, naturals), major scales and key signatures (C,F, G), review symbols, notation and dynamics, develop music evaluation skills, identify musical styles, explore instruments of orchestra, Impressionist Period, chords and harmony, creating a commercial, vocal technique, singing in rounds, singing using partner songs.
