*The Access to HE Diploma does not require a previous art qualification, but a GCSE in English is desirable, along with a keen interest in an aspect of the creative arts. It is an exciting, fast paced course, which relies on students spending between 5-8 hours home study to meet the assignment deadlines.

These one year courses are for people who would either; like to return to education to study for a degree, or for students who have recently taken A Levels and are unsure which creative pathway to study on a degree course.
These one year courses are for people who would either; like to return to education to study for a degree, or for students who have recently taken A Levels and are unsure which creative pathway to study on a degree course.
Learners take part in a varied programme of creative workshops, as well as theory and study skills sessions to prepare them for study at HE level. Learners have their own studio space and use of all the facilities within the visual arts department, which includes the print room, photography studio, ceramics and 3D workshops. In the third term, they are given the opportunity to determine their own brief and produce artwork for an end of year exhibition, which is open to family, friends and the general public.
