Music and Poems

Music is a power of its own, 

It weaves through the air, reaching our ears, minds and hearts. 

It has the ability to carry us away to the most wonderful imaginings, 

and memories and re-capturing the emotions of eons ago.

Each note, tone, and change of rhythm touches our very being, 

our senses awakened to what is, could be, and what was.  

Rest in the moment, calmed or inspired. 

Be enveloped by a world created by it, you and what was; 

In your mind, your heart and cells as you hear and feel its call.

Music, the wonder of time, where it travels back on a whim.

Reminding, prompting, and coercing the good to come back to the now. 

Encouraging the voices in your mind to calm, 

to talk, to rage at the world in which it once was.

But always weaving its way through our being, 

through the very essence of what we are, 

to thread its way throughout our lives, from the past to now. 

The following is a list of common songs requested. There isn't a right or wrong, only what works for you and invokes good memories of times shared. 

Songs and poems are personal; each of us creates a link, and meaning to them in response to the time, place and people we are with, usually when we first hear it or when discussed.   Consider, then, the songs or messages they used to listen to.  Bring a smile to their face, start the feet and fingers tapping, and sing along.  It is a remembrance of them and what made them unique.

These songs range in years between the '70s through to now.  Most of the songs are easily recognised, and depending on the theme or the loved one's preferences a good mix of ideas to choose from.
