Arahunga School

About this service

A Specialist School dedicated to meeting the unique learning needs of students from 5–21 years of age who have High and Very High Needs. 

The Arahunga Outreach Service supports the education of ORS funded students within regular schools.

Transition to Work is for learners from approximately 17 years and older are offered a Transition to Work programme. Their learning shifts from an academic learning focus to preparation for life beyond school. The young people working in our Transition to Work programmes are called trainees to reflect the emphasis on tertiary training rather than traditional school academic learning.

These learning programmes provide: Vocational, Independence, Social and Aspirational goals through a planned work experience focused programme.
