The Four Regions Trust, originally created as the Powerco Wanganui Trust, was formed in 1993 to distribute profits from the trusts investment with greater emphasis on to the communities the trust serves.

Examples
One of the successful applicants, Ōtorohanga Riding for the Disabled received $1,000 to go towards new riding helmets helping to contribute to the safety of riders.
Ruapehu Kahui Ako $2,000 for equine therapy.
