To make sure that children and young people with mild-to-moderate, neurodiverse, or high and complex learning support needs receive appropriate help when they need it.
To improve the identification of and support for children and young individuals with neurodiverse needs, including dyslexia.
Support for students in School/Kura and ECE.
Access resources for ākonga, including referrals to agencies, organisations, and resource teachers.
Improve identification and visibility of learning support needs.
Support transitions with ākonga who have mild to moderate needs, or ORS.
Work with the School/Kura and ECE leadership teams to plan support for all learners.
Working alongside teachers/kaiako, principals in Schools/Kura and ECE.
Partnering with parents, whānau/family to simplify the system so it is easier to access services.
Learning needs screening assessments including dyslexia.
Support for pathways to tests/diagnosis in such things as vision, hearing, ADHD and autism.
The Learning Support Coordinator is a fully funded role dedicated to the learning needs of children from Early Childhood Education to Year 13.
We are a School-based resource, which means that we work directly for all of the schools, Kura, and ECE in the RKA.
