About Me

Me, Mom, Dad, Cody and Lindsey at a wedding in 2018.

Family

My family is one of the biggest parts of my life. My family has helped shape my work ethic, my morals, my dreams, and my passions in life. I am thankful for them because they have presented me with opportunities and have given their endless support.

It is my family that I owe my biggest thanks to for constantly pushing me to do my best and never give up. Through their guidance, love and support I am able to pursue my passions and help not only them but others as I follow my path in dietetics.

My Interests

Curiosity

I believe knowledge is such a powerful thing and it has been such an immense part of my life but if you would have told me when I was younger that I loved learning new and critical information, I would have laughed at you. Pictured above is my friend and I at the 2019 Food, Nutrition and Conference Expo. My experience there broadened my interest in learning more than ever before about topics in the field of nutrition.

History

While at FNCE, my undergraduate group and I were able to travel around the city of Philadelphia. Exploring such a historical city was truly incredible, especially because of my interest in history. It was my favorite class growing up because there have been so many incredible people, interesting places, and significant events throughout history. I also believe that understanding the past is a critical part in helping shape the future.

Adventure

Growing up in a small town I have developed an interest in adventure. I want to go to all the different places I have read about, see the amazing views at the top of mountains, go cave diving, and swim in all the oceans. I have many aspirations and I plan to do as many in my lifetime as possible. In 2019 I was able to travel to North Carolina to visit friends and go hiking in the mountains. Above is a photo from our hike to Grandfather Mountain.

One adventure I have experienced already is a two week trip to California with my friend Jill, who is pictured in the middle with me.

Concordia College

Concordia has shown me the value of a tight-knit community. How the right college can help guide you to where you're meant to be, and for me, that was nutrition & dietetics. Concordia helped me to not only find my path to dietetics, but also to introduce me to topics I would never have explored. For example, one of my senior level biology classes was Entomology, which is the study of insects. Because of this class, I now see the world around me in a new way. I notice I pay more attention to the little details and think critically about the effects of our environment.

Through my experiences at Concordia I have been able to become responsibly engaged in the world. Below are some experiences where I have been able to apply my knowledge and engage with the local community and with our environment.
