5th Grade Assignment: Play the G Major Scale using Rhythm #2C on your rhythm chart. You can find the rhythm chart on Schoology under "Resources" if you do not have the paper. If you are feeling confident with this scale, try learning the 6th grade scale, the C Major Scale, listed further down this page!
G Major Scale: Violin & Viola
Start on open G and add fingers until you get to 3 on G, then go to the D string and add fingers until you get to 3 on D. Then, take fingers away until you end back on open G.
G Major Scale: Cello
Start on open G and add fingers until you get to 4 on G, then go to the D string and add fingers until you get to 4 on D. Then, take fingers away until you end back on open G.
6th Grade Assignment: Play the C Major Scale using Rhythm #1C on your rhythm chart. You can find the rhythm chart on Schoology if you do not have the paper.
C Major Scale: Violin & Viola
Start with 3 fingers on G, then go to the D string and add fingers until you get to 3 on D, and then go to the A string and add fingers until you get to L2 on A. Remember to do Low 2's on both the D & A string. Then, take fingers away until you end back on open D.
C Major Scale: Cello
Start with 4 fingers on G, then go to the D string and add fingers until you get to 4 on D, and then go to the A string and add fingers until you get to 2 on A. Remember to do 2nd finger instead of 3rd finger on both the D & A string. Then, take fingers away until you end back on open D.
C Major Scale: Bass
Start with 2 fingers on A, then go to the D string and add fingers until you get to 2 on D, and then go to the G string and play open G and A. Then, shift to II Position on the G string and play 2nd finger and 4th finger in II Position. Then, take fingers away until you end back on open D.
