1. Go to the Orchestra group on Schoology and click on the folder for Activity #2 under the “Resources” tab. In this folder, you will find folders with links for several different songs. Click on the correct folder (depending on your instrument) and pick one song to download and learn this week. There are folders for each difficulty level. I would recommend easy or medium level for 5th graders and medium or hard level for 6th graders.
2. Before you start to learn the song, check the key signature to see how many sharps there are in the song. If the key signature has 2 sharps, you will have both F#’s and C#’s. If the key signature only has 1 sharp, you will only have F#’s in the song (no C#’s). If there are no sharps listed in the key signature, you will not have either F#’s or C#’s.
3. Ignore the letter names that are written above the notes, these are chords for the piano. There may be some new notes or rhythms in the songs that you have not played or learned before. If you need help with anything, please send me a message on Schoology or have your parent email me.
4. Under the “Discussion” tab on the Schoology group, click on “Activity #2 Discussion” and tell us which song you chose to learn.
