The Conestoga School District (#56) comprises approximately 198 square miles in Cass and Otoe Counties. The district is made up of the communities of Beaver Lake, Lake WaConDa, Union, Murray, Nehawka, and the surrounding rural areas. The Conestoga Schools have national and state accreditation at all grade levels. Excellent facilities are available at two campuses: a PK-6 elementary building and a 7-12 secondary building. Conestoga is a 4 day-week school, with classes held on Tuesdays through Fridays.
Conestoga is proud of the opportunities provided to all students PK-12! The elementary offers small class sizes to maximize learning engagement. The average class size is 16 with 3-4 sections of each grade level. Additionally, we offer many clubs and athletic opportunities for our students beginning in junior high. A few examples are: Mock Trial, FFA, Speech, One-Act, Cyber Patriot, E-Sports, Skills USA, and FBLA. For athletics we offer: cheer, dance, soccer, volleyball, softball, cross country, track, basketball, and wrestling. It's easy to be engaged and involved at Conestoga!
Conestoga Public Schools supports the Nebraska Department of Education's vision of "creating a next-generation accountability system that supports and rewards continuous improvement for every student, school, and educator", by aligning district teams to the AQuESTT tenets, district mission/vision, board of education goals, and strategic initiatives. These teams help to guide the CIP process at school to support the district goal of growth for ALL.
Conestoga began the 2021-2022 school year with a strong focus:
Coming together is the beginning.
Staying together is progress.
Working together is success.
