Kefan Cui

The sound from Kefan's video was clipped into Jack's piece. Gitanjali's piece of the river was inspired by this work.  

He described his own creation process as a state of negative capability, saying that he became so identified with his art he began to “lose track of time and become immersed in the process [...] The distance between the artist and his art shrinks, and shrinks, and shrinks, until it finally becomes a single point.” 

"I collaborated with Jack to create a score that would rise to a crescendo in its beat and complexity, but end with the sound effect of the vase breaking. We composed the backtrack so that it contained dissonances near the midpoint and mostly harmonized near the end."
