"My individual piece of the final project contributes as a testimony of creation and decreation through nature and human nature. This piece takes the physical form of a burial site, crafted through quilted fabric. Within the quilt lies a fragment of an urn, which is painted through the secondary imagination of Gitanjali.
"The concept of a burial is romantic, how the remains of a loved one are beheld by the nurture of nature for eternity. In their bodily decay, they are united with the ground and soil, submitting themselves to the composite of the earth."
Eliya's work with a quilt incorporates one of Gitanjali's pieces. While the quilt is a derivative work of the fragment, Gitanjali painted it understanding that Eliya intended to incorporate it through a patchwork piece, which drove the pattern she created. This makes the pieces simultaneously inspired.
