MS. HOLLEY

Hello! My name is Lesa Holley and I am the new Government/Economics and Psychology teacher at Commerce HS. I am so excited about the 2021-2022 school year! I am ready to meet my students and their families and to let the learning begin. I have long ties to the Commerce community. I earned my BA in U.S. History at East Texas State University in 1995, and I recently completed my MA at Texas A&M-Commerce in 2020. I have been teaching for 15+ years, and I am still going strong, doing what I love! My daughter is a senior this year at Lakeview Centennial HS in Garland, so many of us will be experiencing Senior Year together.

In my classroom, I believe in promoting an active learning environment. Debates and conversations, group activities, and classroom engagement are what you can expect to see on any given day in my classes. I also am not a fan of homework—if it is important, we will cover it together, in the classroom. I encourage my families to reach out to me at any time with questions, concerns, or just to say Hello! I cannot wait to begin the school year with you! Let the learning begin. Go Tigers!
