Welcome! My name is Earvin S. Larry and I teach and serve as the Department Head of the Career and Technology Education (CATE) Department here at Commerce High School. I have been teaching at CHS for over 13 years; I teach Digital and Interactive Media (DIM), Business Law, Robotics, and also Civics and Civil Rights. I am also the sponsor of the CHS Black History Committee, the Blood Drive Coordinator and I assist with the CHS Yearbook production. In the past I have coached basketball, track and cross country at CHS.
Before working for CHS, I spent several years in the U.S. Air Force and I’ve worked in Production Management in the Medical Manufacturing Industry. In addition, I’ve worked for 6 years as an Adjunct Instructor at Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas and as a curriculum writer for the University of North Texas in Denton.
My undergraduate degrees are from: The University of Maryland, (Liberal Arts) and Eastern Illinois University, (Occupational Education). I received my Masters Degree in Occupational and Human Resource Development from Abilene Christian University. I am certified in Business Education and Technology Education 6th – 12th grade
I truly enjoy Teaching and Coaching and I strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our students. In my spare time, I enjoy Church, traveling, motorcycle riding, reading, chess and exercising.
