All teachers must enter attendance electronically in Infinite Campus.
Elementary teachers must have attendance taken by 9:30 a.m. every day. Secondary (middle & high school) teachers must have attendance taken by the end of every period except for the last period of the day. For the last period, attendance must be submitted within 15 minutes of the end of the period.
The are some exceptions for teachers entering electronic attendance. The following scenarios allow for manual attendance collection:
Daily substitute teachers (not the permanent building substitute)
Teacher without access to a computer at the time attendance is required
Infinite Campus cannot be accessed due to power, network, or system outages
All teachers must have a paper roster in the classroom in the event of such exceptions. The teacher must send the roster to the office (secondary teachers should send the roster before the end of each period). In the rare cases that a paper roster is used, the roster must be recorded on an Infinite Campus generated roster report - hand written lists are not acceptable. The date of attendance must be clearly legible on the paper roster to avoid confusion.
All substitute teachers will have an Infinite Campus generated student roster. The school secretary will enter the attendance manually into Infinite Campus for daily substitute teachers.
Teachers only have access to enter attendance for the current day. They cannot enter or edit attendance for previous or future days. Teachers will be able to view attendance entered by the office but are unable to override that attendance. If they have a correction it must be submitted to the secretary in writing. The secretary will make corrections according to Board guidelines.
Comments can be entered when a student is marked absent or tardy but are not required. Comments will display on the Student and Parent Portals when saved. Parents will often notify the teacher directly of the reason for the student's absence. All documentation (written notes, emails, phone call and text messages) regarding a student's absence must be documented and must should forwarded to the Office.

T - Tardy
When taking attendance, all students are presumed and marked (P) for Present.
To mark a student absent, click the “A”, to mark a student tardy, click the ‘T’.
Elementary School Teachers should not use the Tardy option, tardies are captured by the building staff when students sign into school in the Attendance office. They are not marked tardy throughout the school day.
Comments can be added in the comments field.
Teachers must hit Save, even if all the students are present, to indicate that attendance has been taken.
