Multilingual Learner (ML) Plans are developed for all ML students in grades K-13 each year and are provided to classroom teachers. ML Plans provide the following information:
Demographic Information (e.g. Native language, EC/504 Status)
English Language Proficiency Testing (WIDA Screener/ACCESS) and Proficiency Descriptors.
Can-Do Descriptors: Provide examples of what students can be expected to do with language at a given level and what skills would help move them to the next Proficiency Level.
Modifications: Suggestions to modify classroom assignments based English Proficiency Level.
Accommodations: Assigned and approved accommodations for use on North Carolina Annual Testing Program Assessments (Pre ACT/ACT/WorkKeys/EOG/EOC/CTE Post- Assessments) and classroom assessments.
For ML students who have an IEP, 504, or Transitory Impairment Documentation, these documents go above ML Plans. ML Plans will defer to the above plans as needed with regards to accommodations and modifications.
