From 15 to 16 October, we celebrated Erasmus Day at school.
Wednesday 15th October
Our little pupils made flags of the European Union with the help of the secondary school pupils.
Secondary school students created an exhibition with all the flags numbered from 1 to 20 of the countries of the European Union, their capitals and the languages spoken in each of them.
A game was played with cards numbered from 1 to 20, which were handed out at random to primary school children. They were given a blank map of Europe and had to locate the country they had been given, along with its capital city and the language spoken there. When they returned to class, they explained what they had learned about their assigned country.
Thursday, 16 October
A talk was held at the school with families and students about the school's internationalisation process. Information was provided about the Dessibook Project and they were shown the platform where all the books from our country and other European schools are uploaded. At the same time, they were also notified of the production of a short film related to the environment and sustainability, in which we will need the participation not only of the students but also of the families to complete this project, which will end in December.
We ended the Erasmus Day celebrations with a presentation by our former student Ana Fernández Vázquez of her book Azul.
The book is aimed at ‘those who feel lonely and lost, strange and downcast, for lost souls who are looking for others like them’.
The author invites the reader to enter her world: ‘When you feel that nothing connects you to the world, I invite you into mine... Welcome to my world, there is always a place for you here.' Therefore, the central theme is feeling ‘out of place’, isolation, the search for connection, emotional vulnerability, but also the possibility of refuge and belonging.
From 14 to 19 of October our school celebrated for the second time the Erasmus Day. Different activities were hold by our students.
Firstly, our little students designed some postcards to decorate our school. Aren't they cute?
Some students also introduced their adventure in the Ship of Books. We share with you the video they played below.
The conference ended with a presentation about the Agora Platform and we also shared some moments with our collaborator Pedro Rodriguez, a Galician author who showed us his book A corrente das tartarugas.
The 9th, 10th and 11th of October our school celebrated the Erasmus Day. These days different activities were hold by our students. Besides, some teachers presented their adventure in the Desibook project.
One of the activities that our students liked the most was watching a report about the history of students who, thanks to these scholarships, met love or made friendships that have lasted over time. At the end, they had the opportunity to express their doubts and questions to one of our teachers who applied for an Erasmus scholarship in 2014.
