Work Education Experience: Food Hospitality and Tourism
COJUSD is proud to revive our Work Education Experience elective course for the 2025-2026 school year at Orosi High School and Lovell High School. The purpose of offering a high school work education experience curriculum in food services, hospitality & tourism is to equip students with practical skills, industry knowledge, and real-world work experience that prepare them for careers in one of the fastest-growing service sectors. This course will provide hands-on learning, workplace experience, internship opportunities, career readiness skills, support post-secondary transitions, and build a foundation for future employment or further education in culinary arts, hospitality management, or related fields. Our instructor will be Ms Ariana Araujo
Eligibility requirements: Must be in 11th or 12th Grade, on track to graduate, meet or exceed the school attendance requirements of 95% or higher, have good disciplinary standing and the willingness to learn, take directions, and be an active team participant.
**This Course will require early morning job shadowing hours starting in November 2025 through May 2026 for the Work Experience Portion of the Course

CAT PROGRAM: Diesel Mechanics:
In partnership and collaboration with Valley ROP and Dinuba Unified School District, we proudly announce the new Career Pathway in Systems Diagnostics, Service and Repair - “Caterpillar Diesel Mechanics”. The new Diesel Mechanic Regional Class will focus on the entry-level skills for the Caterpillar Diesel Mechanics Program at Reedley College. Students will be immersed in hands-on experience with heavy equipment systems. This course combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
This class will take place during 6th/7th period. We have 12 slots available for SENIORS only (if slots are open will possibly provide an opportunity to 11th).
Students can earn 10 college credits per semester.
High School Counselor must meet with interested students to review individualized Graduation Status and Attendance top meet minimum community college requirements
