Students are required to complete at least two Health units over the two years of 9&10. Students can choose to complete any of the Physical Education units offered. Health and Physical Education subjects run on a two year cycle.

Learning program & assessment:
Students will complete a practical activity each week. Practical activities are aimed at; building knowledge of theory content, giving opportunities to develop teamwork & leadership skills, connecting with local environments
Students will complete a end of topic test for each of the four theory topics and will also be assessed on their participation in practical activities

How do different forms of practice and feedback relate to skill acquisition for individuals at different stages of learning?
How can human movement by analysed and understood from a biomechanical perspective?
What are the ways sports injuries can be classified and how can recovery techniques be applied to improve sporting performance?
Learning program & assessment:
Students will complete written tests or respond to case studies for each of the topics.
Students will be assessed on their practical participation throughout the semester with a focus on skill development, tactical awareness, leadership, participation and preparedness.
Students will alternate between weeks, completing two practical activities in one week then one the next

What are the effects of a range of different party drugs and how can a person organise and attend a party in a safe manner?
What are sexually transmitted infections and how can a person minimise their chances of contracting one and what form of contraception are there to prevent sexually transmitted infection and pregnancy?
What occurs in the process of fertilisation and prenatal development and when a person is pregnant what behaviours do they need to adopt to ensure optimal growth and development of the unborn baby?
What changes have occurred to the health system overtime and what are similarities and differences between Medicare, PBS and private health insurance?
