Students completing VCE need to complete a set of subjects to ensure they are eligible for successful completion of their chosen course. Students may choose an applied learning pathway by selecting to undertake VCE Vocational Major (VM).
VCE
Minimum units - Over the two years achieve a satisfactory in a minimum of 16 units
English - Achieve a satisfactory in three units of English, two of these must be units 3 and 4 English.
Unit 3/4 sequences - Achieve a satisfactory in a minimum of three, unit 3/4 sequences other than English
Year 11 VCE students
English - You must ensure that you have selected Unit 1 and 2 English
Minimum units - You must select five units (including English) each semester
Pre requisites - You must check that you have investigated pre requisite subjects for your chosen pathway
Fast tracking - For students who have fast tracked a unit 1 and 2 subject you will be required to complete a fast track recommendation form if wishing to complete unit 3 and 4
VET - For students wishing to undertake a VET subject you will be required to apply
VCE (VM)
Minimum units - Over the two years achieve a satisfactory in a minimum of 16 units
2 VET credits at Certificate II level or above (180 nominal hours)
3 VCE VM Literacy or VCE English units (including a Unit 3–4 sequence)
Year 11 VCE (VM) students
2 VCE VM Numeracy or VCE Mathematics units
2 VCE VM Work Related Skills units
2 VCE VM Personal Development Skills units
2 VM Integrated Studies units
