All students at ERHS can begin as soon as they start their 9th grade year. Students in 9th grade can take a GUI-47 class as soon as fall of 9th grade year. Students in semester 2 of 9th-12th grade can take any course they meet the prerequisites for.
Fall, Fall Late Start, Winter, Spring, and Summer. Winter is only available to continuing students.
Tuition and fees are waived for Dual Enrollment students. Most courses have zero cost textbooks as well!
Dual Enrollment is a part of state education code that follows the collaborative agreement between ERHS and Norco College. The process and courses are discussed, approved, and supported through the Dual Enrollment program. Dual Enrollment are specific CalGETC general education pattern courses for ERHS high school students where only high school students can register. These courses are noted in DualEnroll as ONLINE or HIGH SCHOOL.
For Any College or School:
Concurrent Enrollment are courses taken outside of CNUSD or Dual Enrollment (e.g. UC Scout, Chaffey College, Silicon Valley HS, Mt. SAC, etc.). If the course your student is interested in taking is offered in ERHS/eSTEM and Dual Enrollment, it is best for them to take it through those channels. Norco College Concurrent Enrollment courses are available as College Course in DualEnroll and appear later than Dual Enrollment approved courses.
For courses outside of CNUSD or Norco College (Dual or Concurrent Enrollment), an approval via this FORM by ERHS counselors and administrators and CNUSD district administrator is required to bring your Concurrent Enrollment grade onto the ERHS transcript. If you receive a denial, it does not mean you cannot take the course for enrichment or interest; it means the grade cannot be brought onto the ERHS transcript.
Courses that compete with courses offered at ERHS or through Norco College (Dual or Concurrent Enrollment) will possibly not be approved to be brought onto the ERHS transcript (e.g. Concurrent Enrollment MAT-1A may not be approved as ERHS offers AP Calc AB and Norco College offers MAT-1A).
Prior to completing the CNUSD form, please speak to your school counselor to ensure the course is a good fit for you. Once your form is completed, please send it to ERHSDualEnrollment@cnusd.k12.ca.us or Mr. Baier (B235) or Ms. Cabal (T122). This form must be submitted prior to starting the course. If the course you wish to take is college Concurrent Enrollment (outside of Norco College), you may have additional documentation to submit along with this form.
Note that the approval/denial process takes a minimum of 2 weeks. The form will return to you once it has been reviewed and is approved/denied.
For Norco College Only:
Concurrent Enrollment are noted in DualEnroll as COLLEGE CAMPUS. This program follows a separate process with separate requirements, due dates, and fees are involved. Courses are taken with Norco College students either online or on the Norco College campus, and space is very limited to high school students (5 seats per course). Norco College Concurrent Enrollment courses appear later than Dual Enrollment approved courses in DualEnroll (typically a month prior to start of term).
Students interested in Concurrent Enrollment (courses listed as College Campus in DualEnroll) must meet with ERHS Counselors Ms. Cabal (eSTEM - T122) or Mr. Baier (ERHS - B235) for more information. Our ERHS Counselors will work with you to see if the course you are interested in taking through Concurrent Enrollment meets CalGETC or major prep requirements.
As of Fall 2025, Norco College Concurrent Enrollment approval/denial is completed through DualEnroll and no additional paperwork is needed. Approval from ERHS counselors and administrators and CNUSD district administrator is needed. This is completed through DualEnroll. Once it is approved/denied, you will see the update in DualEnroll.
Yes, for Fall and Spring. Be sure to read the Concurrent Enrollment process above. The maximum for Norco College is 5 units in the summer and winter and 8 units in the fall and spring, regardless of whether the course is Dual or Concurrent.
Work with your school counselor! Your counselor can work with you to put together a plan that is a mixture of Dual Enrollment and AP courses to meet the college general education CalGETC requirement.
Courses outside of what is listed as High School or Online on DualEnroll is not considered a Dual Enrollment course. Do not register for classes outside of DualEnroll or select College Campus in DualEnroll (those are Concurrent Enrollment courses, see above for more information).
Depends on the course and when you plan to take that course. Speak to your school counselor.
Depends. Courses including math, world language, art/music, some history, and some English can be used to meet UC and CSU's a-g college requirements. The term you take the course in may matter.
Most Dual Enrollment courses are part of the CalGETC pattern of general education courses. These courses are transferable to University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) and likely to most private and out of state colleges and universities.
It is highly recommended to start your Dual Enrollment journey with GUI so you are set up for success and exploring careers. Students who wish to earn the Dual Enrollment stole will need to take it at some point before graduation and it is recommended that it is the first class you take.
For Fall and Spring, you can take up to 8 units (2 classes). For Summer and Winter, you can take up to 5 units (1 class). Courses are typically 3 or 4 units (check out Course Description for more details). In some cases during Fall and Spring terms, Norco College may allow an overload for more units if you have previously successfully completed Dual Enrollment courses.
You will input them under College Courses taken during high school or under Dual Enrollment (depending on if you are using the UC application, CSU application, Common App, or others). Your college/university will require that you submit official transcripts from Norco College. For UCs and CSUs, this is typically in July following your graduation. You will request the official transcripts from MyPortal and send it directly to admissions. The deadline will vary for private and out of state colleges.
Students who have an IEP or 504 can work with Norco College's Disability Resource Center (DRC) for additional supports including working with a College Counselor to develop academic adjustments (similar to accommodations). An application to the DRC is required, as is uploading your IEP/504 plan or doctor's letter.
Disabilities can include: acquired brain injury, developmental disabilities, health impairments, deaf/hard of hearing, learning disabilities, physical impairments, mental health disabilities, temporary disabilities, or visual impairments.
Academic adjustments and/or services may include: assistive technology, assistive equipment/furniture/media, dedicated counseling, in-class note taking, ASL interpreting, real-time captioning, test adjustments, etc.
Parents/Guardians can support the student, however the student must be the one to initiate from start (application) to finish (conclusion of course). FERPA prohibits college staff members from providing student information to parents/guardians. Students are the ones responsible for all communication, grades, etc. with Norco College.
Log in to your DualEnroll account and click on "Status". To the right of the course you want to drop, click on the "Drop" button. Be sure to note the drop dates without a W and with a W.
If you can drop by the drop with a W deadline, that would be ideal. A W on your college transcript allows your future college admissions readers to see that you attempted but withdrew a course. If you believe you can successfully complete the course with an A, B, or C grade, it's best to complete it. If you think you'll earn a D or F grade, it's best to drop the course for the W. The W will not factor into your college GPA like a standard grade would.
Follow the instructions listed on this website under the Enrollment tab.
For students who live in Eastvale, type in Corona. For students who live in Jurupa Valley, type in Mira Loma.
No. That is the first step, but you will need to register for the course you want to take. Follow each step in Enrollment to ensure you're registered for your class(es). You will need to select your course in your DualEnroll.com account (create one if you have not). You will see "Complete" in DualEnroll and receive a confirmation email/text once you are registered into the class.
If you take a Dual Enrollment class in the last 1 or 2 consecutive primary semesters (e.g. Fall and/or Spring), you do not need to re-apply in CCCApply for the following term. For example, if you are taking a class in the Fall, you will not need to re-apply for Spring. You will be able to skip to Enrollment STEP 4.
However, if you skip a semester, you will need to re-apply in CCCApply. For example, if you did not take a class in the Fall and you want to take a class in the Spring, you will need to re-apply.
The important dates are listed in the term tab and vary by the semester. You will want to check the: Term Dates, Registration Dates, Last Day to Add, Last Day to Drop, etc.
Parents authorize their students in DualEnroll. Parents will only need to do this once in their student's high school years for it to be approved the rest of the time.
Students can register for courses in DualEnroll. You will create an account, have your parents/guardians approve, and select the courses you are interested in taking. Once you are approved, ERHS/Norco College will take over and register for the course if it is available. You will see "Complete" in DualEnroll and receive a confirmation email/text once you are registered into the class.
To overload on units for a primary term, students who completed 10 units with a 3.0 or better can request more units in DualEnroll and our College Counselors will review for unit overload. Students cannot overload Summer or Winter terms (5 units max).
DualEnroll.com will show the courses you are registered in as "Complete". You will also receive an email/text to confirm your registration. You will be able to check which classes you registered for, the days and times it meets, and the classroom number, if available/applicable.
Transcripts are needed for these classes and will be sent to Norco College via DualEnroll as pending. You will need to upload your high school transcript. If you meet the requirements you will be registered in the class.
DualEnroll will show the courses you are registered in as "Complete". You will also receive an email/text to confirm your registration. You will be able to check which classes you registered for, the days and times it meets, and the classroom number, if available/applicable.
Your DualEnroll account will indicate whether you are registered for a course or not. You must only select courses that are High School or Online. Selecting courses noted as College Campus will mean you accidentally selected a Concurrent Enrollment course. The registration process for Concurrent Enrollment is different (see above).
DualEnroll automatically removes courses from view once they are full. If space opens up, the course will appear again. Keep checking back.
If the start of class is approaching, you can waitlist the class on DualEnroll. You will be notified if a seat opens and you are registered into the class.
How to Request a Waitlist Spot:
Email dualenrollment@norcocollege.edu with the following information:
Your full name
Your 7-digit Norco College student ID
Your date of birth
The course name and section number you’d like to be waitlisted for
Add Code Option:
You may also contact the instructor directly to request an add code. Add codes cannot be used until the first day of the term
Note that if you register for any course code that's not listed in the term tab because the Dual Enrollment classes are full, you selected a College Campus course, or if you went through MyPortal, it is not considered a Dual Enrollment course.
Log in to your DualEnroll account and click on "Status". To the right of the course you want to drop, click on the "Drop" button. Be sure to note the drop dates without a W and with a W.
Most courses are 3 or 4 units. 3 unit courses = 10 high school credits. 4 unit courses = 15 high school credits.
Grades through Dual Enrollment will be automatically added to your ERHS transcript.
However, keep in mind the dates in which grade will be added:
Summer Courses: Grades posted by the end of August.
Fall Courses: Grades post by the start of February.
Winter Courses: grades posted by mid-March.
Spring Courses: Grades post by mid-July.
Note that 12th graders taking Spring courses will not have their courses appear on their ERHS transcript as the Norco course ends after graduation.
If you do not see a past college course on your high school transcript, then you took a course that wasn't officially a Dual Enrollment course. That's okay! When you are in 12th grade, you will include it in your college applications as college courses you've taken. After graduation, you will submit your high school and college official final transcripts to your college and so long as the course you took was UC/CSU transferable, UCs and CSUs will take it as credit (as will community colleges). Private/Out-of-state universities will likely take it as credit as well.
Yes. Your grade will appear on your high school transcript and it will affect your high school GPA.
You can access unofficial transcripts in MyPortal under Academics -- Unofficial transcript (free). When you've committed to a university in 12th grade and need to send official transcripts, request them through Norco College's Parchment (small fee).
Check out the Accounts tab for more information.
You can find it in your welcome email from Norco College or in your DualEnroll account. Check out Accounts for steps on how to find it in DualEnroll.
